We really love environmental branding projects. Take an existing space, add in a few prints, signs, and builds, and the space conveys an entirely new mood, meaning, or purpose altogether.
Tend Dental moved their headquarters to this alluring 5th Avenue office space. After we were briefed on the client’s vision, we met on-site for a site survey, and through collaboration, translated their vision into the next stage of design. Ultimately the focus became the vestibule, reception area, and floating shelf system areas around the office.
With Tend Dental providing the image for the vestibule, we patterned the image onto our scaled drawings while adding bleeds for wrapping around wall corners, elevators, and doors. As a result, the imaged wallpaper filled the entire hallway and created a serene atmosphere.
The client also tasked us with installing their proprietary backlit mirrors. We received and inspected them in our shop, laid out their hallway placement, and coordinated the electrical integration to bring power to each unit. To finish things off, we installed cable covers wrapped in the wallpaper graphic for a seamless look.
On the fabrication side, the client wanted to create a new reception desk to match the one in their previous office. With only a few specifications and images to reference, we designed a desk with Matte White and Amber Maple laminates, and a custom ribbed texture. The face of the desk was CNC routed to fit a channel lit Tend logo, laser cut from frosted acrylic. The logo was mounted from the interior side of the desk and slid into its front-facing position through the routed panel on the face.
During the project, the client’s sole freight elevator was to be scheduled for a complete renovation. With this in mind, we designed the desk as multiple pieces for on-site assembly.
The lit elements from the mirrors in the vestibule to the lit logo of the desk, created a bright and welcoming invitation into the office.
There’s nothing like a shelf with an invisible support system to create a beautifully minimal and uncluttered look. Using the same Amber Maple laminate to match the desk, the office was decked out with these shelves in the landing area and bathrooms.
